If you both agree to everything you can jointly file for divorce with no lawyer. If you look at this website it will tell you what steps and forms you need to take

Go to Tom Davies square. You can pick up your own divorce package. Do it yourself. No lawyer needed. As long as you split amicably I.e; no house to fight over, child custody/ support or alimony. There is an Agreement section. So as long as you’re on the same page without arguing.

File jointly down at the court house (they’ll give you the packet), pay the fee and wait for it to be processed.

  7. If it’s on consent, it’s simple. Attend at the superior court, file the paperwork, both parties sign and within 31 days, your divorce will be granted. Keep in mind you have to be living separate and apart for a minimum 1 year before you are eligible to apply

  17. Yes, I did this for mine last year. Cost approx $445. You get a “red package”, you attach your separation agreement and any conditions you have amicably agreed to that includes division of property, assets, child support etc. if that applies to you. One person can go file and just bring the package to have your spouse sign it. Then you drop it back off and pay the fee. If the judge doesn’t have any issues with the terms you have agreed upon, you will have your paperwork and divorce certificate done within 31 days, but you do have a grace period of 30 days after that to change your mind if you want to!! I sure the hell didn’t! I was literally dancing my way out of there! It was nice and easy but honestly, most people are out for blood towards each other, and it costs them a lot of money. If you are lucky enough to end your marriage amicably, it will cost you less than $500 in total for the process and your certificate. My ex and I just split the cost. No lawyers, no mediators. If you do want help filling it out – you can go to the Legal Clinic and they will look it over for you before you bring it back to the Superior Court (on Elm Street).

  24. People seem to not realize that they can just move out and they’re legally separated without the divorce. Unless you plan on getting married again, you really don’t need to get a divorce. Once you move out, you’re legally separated and free to date whoever you want. You sound like someone who just wants to hook up with someone else who isn’t your husband/wife.

    • Shannah being legally separated doesn’t always do it for people. They don’t want the attachments. Unless your being bitter and petty there’s literally no reason to not sign divorce papers.

    • Leslie Buffett it’s a temporary fix while awaiting the divorce. There’s really no fast ajs cheap way to divorce. Something to think about before getting married. You sound like the OP

  30. File your paperwork at the court house yourself and ask for a financial assessment to see if you qualify for a reduced cost
