We are very sorry to hear about this unfortunate experience. What you found is an Indian Meal Moth, luckily these are not harmful if you had ingested them. The Indian Meal Moth can come from the nut farms during the harvesting stage. Their eggs are microscopic and cannot be seen by the naked eye. If nuts are put in a warm/humid area these eggs will hatch, turn into worms, which will then turn into a moth. This unfortunately can occur if a customer picks up our item, changes their mind about the purchase and leaves it in a hot area (i.e. rotisserie chicken area under hot lamp).

These suckers are unfortunately quite common and of course we make all our efforts to prevent their development. We are eager to make this right. Can you please e-mail our customer service lead at danielle@targol.com so we can begin an internal investigation with our quality control team and refund your purchase.

    Thank you,
    Royal Nuts
