Not just young people shut out of housing market

I have read comments from young people feeling they will never afford a house at current prices. Well, I’m a senior who wants to move back to my hometown of Sudbury after selling my house, and I fully understand the situation and sympathize with you.

I have a great down payment, steady but fixed income and a good credit rating. But houses in Sudbury are going for $60,000 to $100,000 over asking. And that includes fixer-uppers!

Is it all out-of-town money that is shutting people out of the market? I’d like to hear from some of the listing agents out there, or anyone else ‘in the know’.
