Just a Friendly Reminder Regarding Road Safety

With the weather getting nicer, there are more pedestrians, so after narrowly missing being rear-ended, I though I would remind drivers that just because I have a green light and making a right hand turn, I still must STOP for pedestrians in the crosswalk.

Be mindful of what the intentions of the driver ahead of you is doing.

Don’t assume they are going to proceed as normal speed. Sometimes you have to STOP even at a green light.

Thank you Sudbury.

I was coming from town on Notre Dame going to Kathleen at 8 Am and witness a vehicle a school bus not letting a women cross over on her walk light from Kathleen by the church crossing towards Food Basic she was half way across the road at the island and the car and a school bus coming from Kathleen just kept going and turned left onto Notre Dame I could not believe my eyes, their was another school bus behind the first one at least he was smart enough to let her finish crossing on her light….people are to much in a hurry, they don’t want to miss that light and this is why pedestrians are getting hit

Thank you to the OP for paying attention to pedestrians when turning! As a pedestrian I encounter drivers not looking for pedestrians and making their turn without ever looking on a daily basis. Driver’s need to look both ways, not just at on coming traffic.

Before you preach did you have your signal light on so the person behind you knew what you were doing ?

and you have to make sure they are across before you can pass through. I think the law stating that they have to completely cross before you can make a turn is ridiculous. I wait untill there’s an entire lane between us before proceeding
