Intermittent fasting question

I’m thinking of trying intermittent fasting 16:8, from 11am-7pm. My question is can I still have a coffee with 1 cream at 8am or does this completely screw things up?

  1. Only black coffee. Also don’t eat anything at all when you get up. Unless you get up at 11, don’t eat anything before then

  14. 11am – 7pm is when they eat, all other hours of the day they’re supposed not consume anything.

    If you need some caffeine in the morning, maybe try a matcha green tea powder instead of coffee. Perks me up way more than coffee and it wouldn’t mess up your IF

  17. I do 24 hour fasts lots . Helps cleanse your system and increase white blood cell count . Just drink water for 24 hours .

  18. Depends on what your goals are. If you’re a purist you should only consume water during a fasting period. Otherwise you can drink black coffee. If you consume less than 50 calories an hour it would not break a fast. So a splash of cream or milk in your coffee shouldn’t be too bad. I wouldn’t add any sugar because it would spike your glucose levels.

    I am doing this right now
    water – black coffee- tea
    (no extra add ins)
    it doesn’t take too long for your body to get use to it
    probably about 3 weeks or so and then you won’t even notice its time to eat

    Better to move to only black. One cream won’t totally take you out of a fast but black coffee is always better
