If you’re insensitive to issues of strangers…
If you’re insensitive to issues of strangers that’s one thing and it’s fine. If you’re a person who believes you only have enough time, energy and or resources to help yours closest that’s equally fine.
What’s not ok is when you degrade or insult someone else for helping strangers and it becomes very effective. I get it. No one likes to seem like a person who isn’t humble. But when decades of doing the same things isn’t working it’s time to take different approaches. And I’m sorry to say that if those approaches are working successfully better than ever before and gaining support, man power, and funding to aid those in need better than ever before, then in my books those new methods are fine by me. Especially when it becomes matters of life and deaths for loved ones of our community
To the folks doing so much work with our loved ones who need it most in the downtown core, we love you, I love you and keep on trucking.
