Disrespectful Costco Cashier

To the 2 elderly cashiers that served me at Costco today around 12:30 in Sudbury… I think you both need to learn how to respect your customers. Belittling a customer is not part of your Code Of Ethics I’m sure. When asked if I wanted to make a donation to SickKids and declined by saying ” not today thanks”, these 2 cashiers went on to say how this younger generation have no idea what SickKids are for and that we as a younger generation never donate to the cause. After they realised I was listening to what they had to say, they changed language and started speaking in French saying that ” I would never understand what it’s like to be a parent and that I needed to grow up”.

Well ladies little did you notice but in my cart was a box of diapers and a box of baby wipes. Maybe if you both actually paid attention you would of realized that I myself am a father. Just because I don’t donate at Costco or at any other store that ask for donation to SickKids, does that mean I don’t support the cause? Absolutely not, I have been donating to SickKids for the last 5+ years through SickKids themselves ever since my cousin’s daughter had open heart surgery there.
Also when living in a bilingual town maybe talking about people in French to their face not realizing that they also speak French is a bad idea.

Be very thankful I did not have time to deal with the 💩 attitude you both have with your supervisor as I had to rush home to save a carport that blew away in the wind. Btw I do have your name as Costco kindly puts it on my receipt.

F$CK these companies, they only do it for their own monetary gain!

This whole thing about donating at a large corporation so they can get the tax write off is a fucking joke! Total scam

Costco shoppers are fools. Paying to shop at a store, so you can save money on excessive quantities of product. How much is wasted.

It is NOBODY’S business who you, or if you, choose to donate money to, PERIOD. Anyone who asks for a donation has no idea what other donations you make, or if you do, and you have every right to refuse whatever donation or gift is asked of you without being called out by anyone, in ANY language

All those businesses that ask for charity money it’s for tax write offs on for their own income tax. So they can say costco donates ×××..$ to charity. No it’s not the business that is donating the money it is all their customers that donate and the business receives the reward. Otherwise where is my charitable contribution receipt for my donation? I get one when/if I donate directly to the charity. Imagine how pissed the employees would be if they had to write one out for every nickle they collect on behalf of costco or any other businesses that do the same thing.
