Christmas Money Theft

I am absolutely outraged!!! I went to my locked mailbox today to find a Christmas card addressed to me already opened. Upon reading the card notice there is supposed to be a gift card, no gift card present.

Canada Post mail delivery person stole my gift card!!! The envelope was sliced open with a sharp knife. The card was left but gift card gone.

  1. maybe the sender doesnt really like u, so they sent it open to make u think that? lol

  2. I knew a decent person who got the wrong mail once and thought they were entitled to opening the mail. I always get 194 but live at a 190 #4, so maybe someone just felt entitled.. I tried bringing some back and that’s “not allowed”, so.. Maybe it’s their fault in a different way? I like how the story made me see this secret evil mailman knife that is specific for stealing though lol

  3. I mailed 2 Christmas cards at the shoppers south end location with money they never left the depot…I didn’t get the insurance on them but they were traceable…Canada post does nothing!!!

  4. It might not be the worker. It could be anyone . Could be even somone who sorts the mail or a family member or friend.

  5. Ally Rebekah says:

Mainmen are smart enough to ditch the whole xmas card lol. Wouldn’t risk a government job over a $20 tim hortons card.

  6. Report it to the post office..It has happened to me before..It sucks this happens but it can be anybody..Mail passes through so many offices and hands

  7. Ya right…someone with a fucking Government job would risk it all for your fucking gift card….hahaha!! It’s called Life,,,,Get One!!

  8. Lisa Seguin says:

Don’t blame the employee of Canada Post.Theyve got so much mail to deliver I’m sure he wouldn’t have opened your mail

  9. Don Guay says:

    It’s gone, suck it up.

  10. …..and I will spend it happily…..thank you……what are you gonna do about it? Tim Hortons for all my pals at the Post office!!

  11. no use bitching to Canada Post. I had a parcel cut open and delivered opened. emptied and taped closed. Canada post has a bunch of thieves working there.

  12. Ask other tenants in your building if they’ve noticed stuff go missing. Or people they don’t recognize on the property often. Sometimes all it takes is someone to have a key ring stolen from them. We had someone break into our outdoor ashtray. On the front of the building between our vehicles, and they stole cigarette butts.

  13. could be the sender didn’t add it

  14. How fo you know it didnt go into someone elses mail slot. Dont be so quick to make an accusation. Im sure the mailman/woman knows that if they open a clients mail they would automatically lose their job. Thats a little obvious.. im sure there not that fkn dumb to do that. They get payed more by thee hour then what your giftcard was probably worth. Just saying

    • Its a locked box… only canada post and my landlord have the master key and only i have a copy of my mailbox key.

    • Yea but the postal worker probably dropped the envelope into the wrong mail box. Happens to me and mine is also a locked box.And i get other people’s mail from time to time. If theirs any shady characters in your building id probably assume them. Wher i am theirs 10 apts. I think if something went missing id know who id first suspect. But then again you never really know ..

    • What I am saying is that if it got put into the wrong mailbox, then how did I get it? Theres no way for someone other then the mail guy to put mail in my box unless they fold it in half.

    • The envelope has your mailing adress and box number right? Also your name. Say your box is 8 and the postal worker accidentally was rushing and they dropped it in 2. The person opens their number 2 mail box. Sees your envelope and its that time of year where ppl know money n checks r comming in. So they open it. Take your card. And drop it back in your mailbox since your address is in it right. Thats how they knew wher its suppose to go.

    • Your not getting me. They cant put it in my box themselves it has to be the carrier guy.

  15. Allen Lawson says:

Or it was Put In the wrong mail box and that person grabbed it. The Canada post person really gonna risk there job for a gift card ……

  16. Wouldn’t surprised me – my mom sent me a letter 2 weeks ago. Inside it felt like a gift card but it was ownerships. On the letter it said “open by error”
    BULL FUCKEN SHIT!

  17. I deliver mail for canada post and if I notice an envelope opened or ripped I have to bag it and put a damaged sticker with the date and my initials on it as well as notify my superior. This prevents people from automatically assuming it was me and I cover my ass.

  18. Dan Mallette says:

Probably ended up in the wrong persons box, they opened it when they felt a hard card, stole it and put it in the outgoing mail slot for the mail man to put it in your box just so you could see someone stole it. Evil

  19. This is my post. I received the letter in my locked box that only canada post and my landlord have access to. I already spoke to my landlord. The envelope was sliced open down the side with the card left inside but no gift card (in the card the sender stated there was a gift card)
I will be reporting it to Canada Post.
Cause chances are, if it is the postman then Im not the only one its happened to.

  20. Happened to my family few times too it was the mail person

  21. He he, I thought it was the same post! Lol

  22. This was on here this morning, probably bullshit!

  23. Mike Gratton says:

pretty sure if someone was going to steal a gift card or whatever, they would toss the mail as well.

  24. Funny how many people think laws stop individuals who work for a company from jeopardizing their companies customer base.

  25. I call bs. It would have been easier for the postman not to deliver it than get caught. If it is open look to a family member, lanndlord or a good look at cctv might be helpful

  26. Carrie Rioux says:

bullshit whose dumb enough to not just take the whole card

  27. I don’t think it was the postal worker. Some mailboxes don’t lock and anyone can look, or it’s someone who has a key.

  28. Megan Taylor says:

Would not be the carrier unless they are looking to be let go of a good job. Could have been anyone. Sucks it happened, but shit happens.

  29. Had the same thing happen to me but it was 2 sets of Leafs tickets worth $1000. End of the envelope was slit open

  30. Doubt it’s canada post. Thats considered a federal crime and they have enough issues with the govt lol

  31. Theres a masterlock at the very top of all mailboxes
This is how they open all boxes at once
That lock can be popped as easily as the individual ones.
The perpetrator popped the master lock and decided he or she had the time to open and remove the item and return the plundered piece of mail to its slot
    Its xmas
    The season of mail theft

  32. put a complain to the post office, they will track it or investigate it

  33. It was NOT a postal worker!!!!!! Wow, shake your head.

  34. Tony Martin says:

…..because you can believe everything you see on the internet.
I often wonder how many people send in posts that are complete bullshit just to stir up crap.

  35. I am absolutely outraged that you automatically think it’s the mail carrier. It could have been any number of people, if you have a kid it could have been them… it could have been your landlord. Or it was you and you just want attention.

  36. don;t think it was the postie unless he is really dumb, why would he even bother delivering the card, maybe someone has a key
